Job Vacancy – Play Scheme Lead Worker
Caldmore Village Festival Ltd based in Caldmore, Walsall, has the following vacancy for enthusiastic and experienced play scheme worker:
Play Scheme Lead Worker
Hours: 7 hours per day, 6 days a week during three half – term holidays, Easter and Summer school holidays (9 weeks in a year plus additional preparation days).
Salary: £10 per hour
Place of work: Caldmore Community Garden, Carless Street, Walsall WS1 3RH.
Ideally applicants will have a relevant Level 3 NVQ or diploma, preferably in Playwork. Applicants must have experience of working with 7 – 13 year olds in a play environment.
Experience of working in a supervisory capacity is essential.
All posts are covered by the Childcare Act 2006 and are subject to receipt of a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure for a regulated activity and reference checks.

Living Memory project

Great news! We will be taking part in the Living Memory project during 2019/2020 hosting one artist and one bursary artists who will be developing exciting workshops and mini-projects in Caldmore.
We will be working with street photographer Farhad Berahman (check out his amazing work on his website – http://www.berahman.com) to host a series of free photography workshops at the Garden, stay tuned as we will be announcing them on our Facebook and website.

Caldmore on the Beach Open Day

Caldmore on the Beach Open Day with special performance Life’s a Beach from Black Country Touring at Caldmore Community Garden!
Life’s A Beach:
A brand new show premiering in July 2017 through a partnership between Black Country Touring and So Festival in Skegness. The show will draw on stories of seasonal visitors and year round residents. Supported by Magna Vitae , Creative Black Country, & Arts Council England.
Three caravans – each one a specially created performance space, each one a different part of an experience shared across cultures – the British seaside.
Three unique shows created from interviews with the people of the Black Country and Skegness. Together, they explore the glitz, the grot, and fish & chips; the sea, the sand and the seagulls ; the wind, the waves and the fairground rides that make our holiday experience.
But what’s it like to live there all year round? Meet the bingo caller who dresses as Elvis and the Lifeboat crew who keep us safe.
Event programme:
‣ 12-1pm Meet the characters of the show LIFE’S A BEACH.
‣ 1-4pm – Series of performances in three theatre caravans.
‣ Free screen printing workshop – print your own bag.
‣ Arts and crafts, face painting, family games, tombola.

Circus Open Day at Caldmore Community Garden!
D & F Bros Grand Indian Circus performance and workshop:
D & F Bros. Grand Indian Circus has been specially created by Rhythms and Ragas in collaboration with Access All Areas and 30ips for touring in 2018 to celebrate Circus250, marking the 250th anniversary of the World’s first circus appearing in London in 1768.
Rajasthan is home to the most elite of street circus performers; this fascinating region’s legendary entertainment communities combine their amazing skills – with optional live musical support from the World famous Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band- in performing breathtaking acts of courage and bravery. Preserved over many centuries from the time of the Maharajas, they take this ancient, mystical and magical circus format to even greater heights.
The cast of dancers, illusionists, aerialists, acrobats and rope walkers, with the eye-watering displays by their fakir, present a colourful, vibrant, fast-moving extravaganza of intrigue, drama, feats of daring, music, laughter and surprise.

Caldmore Village Festival Ltd (CVF) is seeking to appoint a dynamic Community Development Worker (Maternity Cover). This is a fantastic opportunity to join CVF at an exciting time. You will be a motivated self-starter who is able to use initiative and have a flexible approach to community engagement.
Maternity cover
This post is a twenty eight weeks fixed-term contract to cover the period of maternity leave for the key worker.
Key roles include:
- Promote and sustain the work of Caldmore Community Garden and House (CCGH) through identification of funding opportunities, writing of bids, delivery of projects and events.
- Ensure that CCGH responds to the needs of the community.
- Develop strong links with community, faith and business groups along with other key partners and with the local authority.
- Raise the profile of CCGH.
You will:
- Have previous experience in a challenging community orientated role.
- Manage staff and workers in relation to projects.
- Have flexible working.
- Report to CVF Management Committee.
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS.
