Willow Activities with ILdiko Nagy

ILdiko Nagy, an interdisciplinary artist and workshop facilitator at the Midlands Art Centre, blends diverse materials to inspire creative self-expression and address ecological issues, with a strong focus on nature. She’s been weaving willow since 2013!

In November, she led two open workshops, expertly guiding our group in meticulously crafting a willow tipi. She also worked with our Women’s Tuesdays group and ran a Garden Saturdays session with local families. The result was a lovely new addition to the garden.

ILdiko worked with our community to create a variety of beautiful willow pieces, collaborating with the Men’s Shed group to craft intricate willow fences, guiding the Women’s Tuesday group in weaving stunning willow baskets, and helping the Garden Saturday participants create charming willow stars.

A heartfelt thank you to ILdiko for her incredible work in the garden so far, and for leading our wonderful groups! Together, we’ve crafted some stunning willow creations, and we hope to have the chance to collaborate with her again this year.
