Caldmore Men’s Shed

What is Men’s Shed

Men’s Sheds is a national movement that brings men together to do positive things in their local communities. Projects vary but most involve men coming together to plan and undertake practical activity such as carpentry, gardening, bike repair and creative projects etc. in a safe, friendly environment, usually a shed.

Caldmore Men’s Shed

Caldmore Men’s Shed project aims to create a regular meeting space for men at Caldmore Community Garden, where they can develop ideas and projects through regular meetings and activity sessions.

As a group we have been meeting since October 2016 and we have built a shed and have kitted it out with a wood burning stove, lighting and other improvements to make it a place to work and socialise together.

We have also worked together to build a tree house, a play house, and have plans for many more practical projects in things as diverse as creative writing and new technology while also getting out into the great outdoors to do projects in the garden.

Above all, it is a friendly space for men to meet and socialise, share skills and help out in the local community.

Men’s Shed is for you!

We are an easy-going group who always welcome new people.

You don’t have to have any previous experience of doing anything practical or of getting involved in groups.

When we take on projects we plan and do them together learning from each other. Most importantly it’s free to join!

All we ask is that you come and give up a little of your time and get involved.

It’s open to men of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.

We encourage volunteering with us, support you with learning new skills, and are happy to give you references, should you need them.

Every Monday is a MANday!

We meet on Mondays between 10.00 and 12.30pm.
