Polish Picnic in Walsall – Saturday 17th October, 1-5pm

PL picnic ENCaldmore Community Garden and Polish Supplementary School in Walsall would like to invite everyone to a Polish picnic in the community garden on Saturday, 17th October 2015.

Come and join us for an afternoon of Polish music, arts and crafts and games for the whole family, Polish Your Polish language class for non-Polish speakers, face painting, barbecue and relaxing time in the garden.

Caldmore Community Garden is a space for all communities of Walsall where they can grow their own veg, fruit and flowers and take part in activities for children and events bringing together diverse cultures of Caldmore.

Polish picnic is another event – after our English, Bangladeshi, Indian and Pakistani days – aiming at showcasing one of the cultures through music, food, language and traditions. It is a great opportunity to meet people and spend an afternoon with neighbours and wider community.

We would like to invite everyone to take part in a best cake competition – cakes will be judged by a panel of experts. Funds raised will go to the Polish Supplementary School in Walsall.

The picnic is organised by European’s Welfare Association CIC, Polish Supplementary School in Walsall, Walsall Housing Group and Caldmore Village Festival Groups. It is funded through Near Neighbours, Awards for All and whg.

Start: 1pm for 5pm finish.
Address: Caldmore Community Garden, Carless Street, WS1 3RH (by Caldmore Village Primary School)

And what a day it was! Some photos from our Open Day

What a day!

We’ve had 86 visitors, Good Traditions rocked the garden with its folk repertoire, we still smell of lavender and carry around our lavender sachets, we wrote little pieces about the garden that will inspire our Writer in Residence David Calcutt, the food was gorgeous and even bugs got their hotel!

Thank you all for coming, helping out and supporting the garden. Hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did!
