Apple Wassail at the Garden – Saturday 18th January 12-4pm

Join us for our Apple Wassail event on Saturday 18th January 2025, 12-2pm!

– Learn more about winter fruit tree pruning at our free workshop with gardening expert Sally Cunningham
– Share a lovely lunch with hot home-made soup and cake
– Join in with a traditional Wassail procession to bring good apple harvest in the coming year
– Enjoy Wassail and folk music by Mike Bethel and sit with us around the campfire.

The workshop is 12-2pm, with music and Wassailing starting after lunch at 2:30pm.

The event is funded by the West Midlands Combined Authority and The National Lottery Community Fund.

Christmas at the Garden!

Mark your calendars, because Saturday the 14th of December, is set to be a day of festive cheer and community spirit! From 1-4PM, join us at Caldmore Community Garden, for Christmas at the Garden – a heartwarming event that’s guaranteed to get you into the Christmas spirit!

What to Expect?

The garden will be transformed into a festive wonderland featuring Santa’s Grotto, where you can meet Santa and his cheerful elves. Capture magical moments with the man in red himself!

Here’s what else is in store for the day:

  • Christmas with B’Opera: A truly enchanting experience for all ages! At 1PM, enjoy a Relaxed Christmas Concert, followed by carols and winter songs at 2:30PM. Let the beautiful music fill you with the joy of the season.
  • Activities Galore: From Christmas crafts to a festive tombola, there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained. Children can look forward to some special presents as well!
  • Seasonal Treats: Savour the taste of Christmas with mince pies, homemade cake, mulled apple juice and other warming hot drinks available in our cafe.

Free Entry – No Booking Required!

The event is completely FREE and open to everyone – no booking is needed, so just turn up and enjoy the festivities. Whether you’re looking for a fun day out with the family or simply want to soak in the holiday atmosphere, there’s something for everyone at Christmas at the Garden.

Father’s Day at Caldmore Community Garden

Join us for a Community Fun Day for dads and their kids – come and join us for an afternoon of circus, creativity, and a campfire!

– Thingamabob by Matt Pang – performances at 12:30 and 2pm 
With an internationally renowned blend of circus, invention and humour, Matt Pang brings to life a giant ball slinging, self exploding piece of handcrafted gadgetry, inspired by the famous Rube Goldberg machines and Heath Robinson contraptions.

– Arts and crafts – make a Father’s Day card!

– Home-made cake and campfire – toast some bread and marshmallows over the fire!

Easter Egg Hunt at the Caldmore Community Garden Garden – 23rd March 12-4pm

Come and join us for our annual

EASTER EGG HUNT at Caldmore Community Garden:

– 12.30pm and 3pm – Easter Egg Hunt for children aged 1-4 – have a go at finding chocolate eggs at the Garden!
Little ones must be accompanied by a grown-up, no older siblings allowed in the tots area. Please don’t be late!

– 1-3pm – Easter Egg Trail for older children – complete an Easter Egg trail, solve the clues and claim your chocolate egg! No need to come at a specific hour, your child can do it at any time during the event.

There will be lots of other activities, including:

🥚 Children’s entertainment with Happy Child
🥚 Tombola
🥚 Face-painting
🥚 Cake and drinks at our Community Cafe

Come and join us for a joyful Christmas celebration at the Garden.

Visit Santa’s Grotto – meet Santa and his elves! All children get a present from Santa.

Enjoy Christmas music with B’Opera:

  • at 1pm Relaxed Concert for children aged 0-5 and their families;
  • at 2.30pm – Carols and winter songs from all around the world.

There will be Christmas crafts, and our community cafe will be running with mince pies, non-alcoholic mulled wine, hot drinks and home-made cake!

Halloween Party

Join us for a Halloween Spooktacular Party at Caldmore Community Garden!

Will you dare to walk through the Tunnel of Horrors?

Will you pass the potion making test at the Potions Lab before things go horribly wrong and you get turned into a frog?

Will you join the Zombies for their zombie walk?

Come dressed up in your Halloween costume, bring a home-made Halloween themed dish to enter a competition, and don’t forget a torch!

The Zoo that Comes to You and Where We Grow – a Day of Performances with Black Country Touring on 16th September 12-4pm

Join us for a spectacular day of art, nature, creativity and performances brought to us by Black Country Touring!

2pm The Zoo that Comes to You by Scarlet Oak Theatre – A family show featuring puppetry and live music! Come and meet these eclectic animals as they discuss their life experiences and the challenges they face in a rapidly changing world. A joyous journey featuring puppetry, live music and playful characters, Scarlet Oak Theatre welcomes people of all ages to join the conversation about animal conservation.

12-4pm Where We Grow by Black Country Touring – four short performances grown from community gardens across the Black Country have been spread around our garden. Wander around and enjoy each one!

And as always – arts and crafts, drinks, home-made cakes and refreshments at our community cafe!

Scarlet Oak Theatre

Jasmine Orchard and Lucia d’Inverno met when training at Circomedia: centre for contemporary circus and physical theatre. Both artists bring to the company their experience from working in a variety of educational settings; youth theatres, baby sensory classes, schools and home education groups. With their professional experience of acting, puppeteering, directing and producing they have come together to form Scarlet Oak Theatre, a company committed to making theatre that is equally accessible and engaging for children and their grownups.

Windrush Community Event

This Thursday we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of Windrush – join us for a community event organised at the Garden by Walsall Black Sisters Collective!

The event starts at 11am and finishes at 3pm.

There will be live performances, music, bouncy castle, cultural workshops, stalls, food and many more, everyone is welcome.

The event is organised with the help of Walsall Council and The National Lottery Community Fund.

Meet the Gruffalo at Caldmore Community Garden

Come to the launch of our new Gruffalo Trail at the Garden – meet the Mouse, Owl, Fox, Snake, and of course the Gruffalo himself!

  • Take part in Gruffalo crafts and listen to Julia Donaldson’s story at 11.30am and 12.30pm.
  • Enjoy home-made cake and hot drinks at our Community Cafe, and bring a picnic if you like!
