NEARLY 600 PEOPLE UNITE AT CALDMORE COMMUNITY EID PARTY TO RAISE OVER £1,800 FOR CHARITY

590 people attended a spectacular Eid Party last Saturday at the Caldmore Community Garden. The event brought the community together to celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Caldmore, the Cultural Heart of Walsall.

The busy event was a huge success. It raised £1,828.02 for Sudan Kidney Aid. The festival group sends a massive thank you to everyone who came out to support this vital cause.

A True Community Effort

The party was made possible by many local groups working together. Organisers want to say a big thank you to:

  • Aaina Hub
  • Aisha Mosque
  • Afghan Community and Welfare Centre
  • Bilal Academy
  • Nuurul Huda
  • Walsall Kobar Friendship Association
  • Sudan Kidney Aid

These groups helped plan the event and set up stalls. They also ran fun activities and greeted every visitor with huge smiles.

Chairman Praises Strong Partnerships

Mohammed Arif, Chairman of the Caldmore Village Festival Group, shared his gratitude for the team and the partners who make the garden possible:

“I extend my deepest thanks to our core partners at Walsall Council, who lease the Caldmore Community House to us, and to whg, who are the leaseholders on the land that is now called Caldmore Community Garden. I also want to thank all the staff and volunteers who give up their valuable time to support all our events.

While this specific event was a wonderful Eid Party celebration for the Muslim community, we take pride in bringing everyone together all year round. We also host annual events for the whole community, including Festival of Lights, Christmas Carols, and our Easter Egg Hunt.”

Special Local Support

The Mayor and Mayoress of Walsall made a wonderful guest appearance at the garden. The Caldmore Village Festival Group is very proud to announce that they look forward to being named one of the Mayor’s chosen charities for the year.

The event also received grand support from its main sponsor, NA Cars and Minibuses Ltd.

Celebrating Our Volunteers

The real heroes of the day were the local volunteers.

  • They are the heart and soul of Caldmore Garden.
  • They gave up their time to make the day run smoothly.
  • The festival group appreciates every single minute of their hard work.

Beautiful moments from the day were caught on camera by photographer Sherrie Edgar from Art, with help from Young Promoter Julia.
